2025 FIM MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS

Following last season’s first-ever victory in the FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN), an unchanged Australian team of Jett Lawrence, his elder brother Hunter and Kyle Webster returned to defend their title at the immaculate Ironman Raceway in the USA.

Inspired by the incredibly talented Lawrence brothers who race full-time in America, Australia were third in 2022 and second in 2023 before last season’s dramatic debut win in Great Britain and this time around they again brought the thunder from Down Under.

Locking horns with the fastest Motocross riders on the planet, it was Hunter Lawrence – Honda who shone brightest in Indiana with his double win in the Open category laying the foundations for a second Australian victory.

Competing in the MXGP category, Jett Lawrence – Honda also won his class, but after taking victory in his first moto a crash in the final race restricted him to third behind his brother and Team USA’s Eli Tomac – Yamaha.

Of course, the MXoN is a team effort and Kyle Webster – Honda played an incredibly important supporting role in MX2 where his fighting fifth overall kept Australia in contention and paved the way for what ultimately was a relatively comfortable win ahead of the USA.

2024 FIM MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS

History was made this year over a weekend in early October in Great Britain when the Australian trio of Jett Lawrence, his brother Hunter and Kyle Webster raced to their country’s first-ever victory in the FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN).

An annual event to decide the sport’s leading nation, the MXoN dates all the way back to 1947 and the honour roll of riders who have represented their country reads like a who’s who of Motocross’ greatest legends.

Inspired by the prodigiously talented Lawrence brothers, Australia was third in 2022 and second las tyear and at Matterley Bas in this time around the team brought the thunder from Down Under to continue this progression to its logical conclusion with a polished performance that hit the headlines around the world.

At twenty-one the younger of the Lawrence siblings, Jett–Honda led from the front to dominate the Open class and the multi-time American champion would have won both his races, but for an audacious final corner pass by Slovenia’s Tim Gajser, while twenty-five-year-old Hunter–Honda was fourth in MXGP.

With Webster–Honda taking a rock-solid sixth in MX2, their combined efforts gave them the title by three points ahead of the USA.
