2025 FIM WOMEN'S TRIALGP WORLD CHAMPION

A five-time runner-up and double bronze medallist, eleven years after making her debut in the FIM Women’s Trial World Championship, Spain’s Berta Abellan – Scorpa finally struck gold this year.

The twenty-six-year-old’s worst performance of the season came in the opening race on the opening day of the opening round in Spain in early April when she got her campaign under way with a fifth, however this was just a blip in a year that was characterised by her amazing consistency.

With her main opposition coming from Italian teenager Andrea Sofia Rabino (Beta), the pair were virtually inseparable through the first two rounds and four scoring days of competition before Abellan finally broke free in Japan.

With the championship returning to the USA for the first time in eight years, Abellan hit top form at the immaculate LeGrand Reynolds Horseman’s Area in Exeter, Rhode Island, in July where she resisted intense pressure from Rabino and Czech rider Denisa Pechackova (TRRS) to win all four races and cement her position at the top with just one round remaining.

Heading to Great Britain in early September with a thirty-two-point lead, Abellan won the overall on both days to clinch the crown in style.
