2025 FIM SPEEDWAY UNDER 21 OF NATIONS - SON2

History was made in October in the Marian Rose Motoarena in Torun, Poland, where a German team raced to the 2025 FIM Speedway of Nations Under 21 (SoN2) title, in the process ending the host country’s incredible run of victories in the competition.

On home shale with eleven consecutive wins to their name, Poland looked incredibly strong, but Norick Blödorn – alongside event newcomer Mario Häusl – upset the formbooks to lead his nation to its first-ever world team title.

Defeating Sweden in their first Heat, the German duo then overcame Australia before beating Poland in a tense encounter. Having won all three of his opening Heats, Blödorn dropped his first point against Latvia, but Häusl stepped up to win.

After beating Great Britain, Germany lost to Denmark in both nations’ penultimate Heat, a result that tied the two countries at the top of the table.

Denmark then added four points to their total against Poland before Germany scored five against the Czech Republic in the final Heat of the programme to take the title by a single point, a result that also means the team’s third member Hannah Grunwald – although she did not race – becomes the sport’s first-ever female world champion.
