2025 FIM LONG TRACK OF NATIONS WORLD CHAMPIONS

Taking on defending FIM Long Track of Nations champions Germany – the most successful country in the history of the competition – on their home ground at Vechta was never going to be an easy task, but the team from Great Britain rose to the occasion to claim a famous victory.

On paper the British team looked strong with Chris Harris, Zach Wajtknecht and Andrew Appleton all showing great form in the FIM Long Track World Championship and after heavy rain forced a full restage they held their nerve in the impressive Reiterwaldstadion Vechta.

After beating the Netherlands in their opening Heat, France were the next team to taste defeat at the hands of the British who then maintained their win-streak against the Czech Republic, despite Harris retiring.

Next up for the British team were Finland who were comfortably dispatched, as were Denmark, before a dramatic showdown with Germany in the final Heat of the programme saw the defending champions knocked out of the competition and Great Britain through to the Final against the Netherlands.

When the tapes went up on the Final it was Harris who took the lead from Wajtknecht and Appleton as Great Britain raced to the gold medal.
