2025 FIM SPEEDWAY UNDER 21 WORLD CHAMPION (SGP2)
A silver medallist in last year’s FIM Speedway Under 21 World Championship (SGP2) behind Wiktor Przyjemski, this time around Nazar Parnitskyi turned the tables on the defending champion to strike gold for the Ukraine and end Poland’s four-year monopoly on the title.
Aged just eighteen at the time, Parnitskyi was second in his Qualifier at Debrecen in Hungary in June to book his place in the three-round series of Finals, but when they got under way at Målilla in Sweden at the beginning of July he had to settle for fourth as Przyjemski started his title defence on top.
When the championship chase moved to Riga in Latvia at the start of August, Parnitskyi finished second behind Czech racer Adam Bubba Bednar, though by finishing ahead of Przyjemski he closed the gap to the leader to set up a thrilling showdown in Vojens in Denmark in mid-September.
The atmosphere was electric in the Vojens Speedway Center, the home of Danish Speedway, where Parnitskyi – who started the programme four points adrift of Przyjemski – was in the form of his young life. With the defending champion struggling with injury, Parnitskyi reeled off an unbeatable five-race maximum to claim the crown in style.
