For the first time, the FIM Awards will arrive in Great Britain, where the Awards Ceremony of the World Champions that includes over forty motorcycle categories will take place on 2 December 2023 in Liverpool. The iconic FIM gold medals will be awarded to the first winners in all the Championships governed by the International Motorcycle Federation.
The Red Carpet and Gala Dinner will be held at ACC Liverpool Convention Centre, a modern and multifunctional facility that overlooks the famous Albert Dock in the home of the Beatles. Over six hundred guests from the one hundred and eighteen National Federations of the world, together with riders, promoters, stakeholders and other industry representatives will be present.
To promote this event, the FIM has partnered with one of the most authoritative media in the UK, Motorcycle News, an historic newspaper that has been the voice of motorcycle sport since the mid-1960s with a weekly print version, and more recently with an online presence and social channels.
MCN will talk about the events preceding the Awards, where the main actors will be the Champions, and the glamour of the Gala evening, with interviews and insights. A unique opportunity, to have all the fastest and best performing riders in the world together.
FIM Marketing & Digital Director, Fabio Muner said: “We are very proud to bring the FIM Awards to the UK for the first time, and especially to Liverpool. For us, the FIM Awards are a very important moment of celebration of our champions and their sporting successes, which are the result of commitment, dedication, perseverance and many sacrifices. The FIM Awards are also the institutional moment that determines the official end of the season and international motorcycle events. The FIM, through all its digital channels and social platforms, tries to give maximum prominence to this great event, however the fact of being able to be supported at a national level by a prestigious newspaper like MCN can only help the exposure of the event and its brand awareness throughout England and beyond. We invite all motorcycling fans to follow the event through the MCN platforms and the live ceremony on www.fim-moto.tv.”
MCN Editor, Richard Newland commented: “It’s fantastic for the UK to be honoured with hosting the 2023 FIM Awards, helping to bring an invaluable spotlight onto motorcycle sport in a country which has contributed so many champions over the years. The opportunity to also bring the work of the FIM into focus for UK motorcycle sport fans is highly valuable, too – underlining the crucial role the organisation plays in supporting, developing, promoting, and protecting race series and the stars who draw us into the action. It’s a great honour for MCN to support the FIM with this year’s prestigious annual Awards, and to bring this extraordinary gathering of the greatest talent in motorsport to the biggest print and online audiences in motorcycling.”
