2025 FIM WOMEN'S SNOWCROSS WORLD CHAMPION

A fighting fourth last season when this unique discipline was first elevated from FIM World Cup status, this year Finland’s Saga Forsell has written herself into the history books as only the second-ever FIM Women’s SnowCross World Champion, although she was forced to work for it with her main opposition coming from Sweden’s Wilma Jonsson.

With the championship getting under way at home in Finland at the end of February, the twenty-year-old seized an immediate advantage when she qualified first and then won the opening race by almost fifteen seconds from Jonsson. Race two was closer, but Forsell was still nearly ten seconds clear of the 2024 bronze medal winner as she established her early dominance.

Just two weeks later the action switched to Kayseri-Erciyes in central Türkiye where Forsell and Jonsson continued their rivalry with a win and a second helping the Finn strengthen her advantage with just one round remaining in the series that was extended to three rounds for 2025.

The showdown was four weeks later in Fällfors in Sweden where third and second-placed finishes in the two races earned Forsell the title by a single point from Jonsson who was a super-strong performer on home snow.
