2025 FIM MX2 MOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPION

Just twenty years old when the 2025 season got under way at Cordoba in Argentina over the first weekend in March, Simon Längenfelder – KTM already had three FIM bronze medals to his name before striking gold this season in the FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship.

With twenty rounds in seventeen countries spread across four continents, the championship is notoriously arduous and tests riders and machines to the limit and having been a contender for the previous three seasons, the German star finally fought his way to the top in 2025.

In contention throughout the early stages of the season, Längenfelder seized control of the series leader’s red plate at round nine at Ernée in France, lost it at the following round on home ground at Teutschenthal in Germany before regaining it at Kegums in Latvia at round eleven.

Once he was back on top, Längenfelder extended his advantage with a commanding performance in Great Britain at Matterley Basin and despite intense pressure from defending champion Kay de Wolf – Husqvarna as the season came to a close in Australia, he held firm with his winning margin of just nine points a testament to how close it was this year.
