2025 FIM SUPERSPORT WORLD CHAMPION

After finishing second for the previous two seasons, Italy’s Stefano Manzi – Yamaha finally went one better this year to lift the FIM Supersport World Championship title.

The twenty-six-year-old was a regular competitor in Moto3™ and Moto2™ before switching his attention to the FIM Supersport World Championship where he finished sixth in his first full season in 2022.

After winning back-to-back silver medals, 2025 was his time to shine and he took charge when the twelve-round series got under way in Australia in February where he shared the points lead with Britain’s Tom Booth-Amos before assuming sole control the following month in Portugal, a lead he would hold until the end of the year.

In a championship so notoriously competitive, Manzi’s achievements this season have been impressive to say the least. He was on every race podium for the first four rounds and claimed eleven race wins – including devastating doubles in Italy, Hungary and France – along with a further nine podiums from twenty-four races.

As his rivals failed to keep pace, Manzi arrived at the famous Estoril circuit in Portugal for the penultimate round with one hand on the trophy and he clinched the crown with victory in the second race.
